Smoke Sauna Evening

International Week participants @ Hangaslahti Smoke Sauna

Probably the most exciting things about TAF week – The traditional Smoke Sauna.
According to Finns, sauna connects and is the best place for networking. At the beginning some of our International Guest might not have been convinced whether to go to Smoke Sauna and to dip in the frozen lake afterwards or not, but almost all did and were entirely satisfied about their decision.
Read yourself a few comments about how they saw this very special experience

"I wanted to eat my own tongue, it was smoked and tasty." (Doru Pop, Rumania)

"Really nice and completely hot (and completely cold afterwards) I came out as a salmon. Thank you sauna people and TAF people for organizing this." (Lenno Verhoog, The Netherlands)

"The smoke sauna was a wonderful experience. I wasn’t too sure about the dip in the lake, but it was extremely invigorating. Beautiful location and inspiring atmosphere."

"I'm so grad I did this one, with guidance from my new friends. I now need a Sauna at home in the UK and make time to use it!" (Paul Shakespeare, UK)

"On Wednesday the legendary smoke sauna. In fact, as Cai noted, the only reason why I am here.
You never want something else, the real good and hot feel in the cabin and afterwards into the lake, teh largest part still covered with ice. I guess the water had a temperature just above zero.
I always will come back on this international week :)" (Alber tvd Kooj, The Netherlands)

"One of the themes of this International Week is innovation + sauna is a perfect space outside of routine and mundane thinking for something new to emerge.
The smoke sauna, shoved across this international group enables a different level of collaboration + new connections to be cennented. It’s a very special space, gifted to us by our Finnish hosts. A unique experience which has a tasting legacy. The international teachers will want to return to shove the community again + return the gift throught move new ideas + ways of working well together. We should really keep this secret as its sort of our success formula!" (Sheila Robinson, UK)

"Great experience. After the traditional sauna, do not forget to wash your hair properly, otherwise you can wake up with a black pillow! :)" (Jānis Garančs, Latvia)
