Ikuinen gallery is a contemporary art project space located in the old factory complex Finlayson in central Tampere. The gallery is run by a board of fine art students in Tampere UAS School of Art and Media as part of their study program. Ikuinen gallery’s main focus is in presenting interesting and high quality student work, whereas work from other art school students and teachers as well as visiting artists are regularly also at show.

TAF project 24 h in Tampere success in Europe
One of the TAF International Week 2011 workshop outcomes, the 24 hours in Tampere project, has been screened in Istanbul and Graz and also further developed during MindTrek in Tampere.
The project has also been selected for the 15th International Video Festival VIDEOMEDEJA, in Novi Sad, Serbia.

TAF goes to Youth Award Festival in Graz
World Summit Youth Awards Winners Festival will open tomorrow in Graz, Austria. Today our second year Media students, 10IMPs will travel to Graz to be a part of the festival.
The WSYA selects and promotes best practice in e-Content. It demonstrates young people's potential to create outstanding digital contents and serves as a platform for people from all UN member states to work together in the efforts to reach the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

International affairs
International Week included a sauna party for our guests - one for the lecturers and another for the students. The guest students were invited to Tamko’s sauna on Wednesday evening. The members of Tarina hosted the event, which was quite successful even though most of the attending people were Finnish, not international. Besides going to sauna, there was casual discussion ranging from different countries’ study options to cultural differences between our countries.
The hosts had also prepared some foods, so when people left the sauna at midnight there was no need for an extra snack.
For the upcoming International weeks it might be considerable to combine the international sauna events or invite also some of our Finnish students, who were eager to join already this time.

Smoke Sauna Evening
International Week participants @ Hangaslahti Smoke Sauna
Probably the most exciting things about TAF week – The traditional Smoke Sauna.
According to Finns, sauna connects and is the best place for networking. At the beginning some of our International Guest might not have been convinced whether to go to Smoke Sauna and to dip in the frozen lake afterwards or not, but almost all did and were entirely satisfied about their decision.

TAF's The Day
The last but definitely not the least day of Tampere Art Factory 2011 starts tomorrow on Friday 15th of April.
In the cafeteria at the Finlayson campus starts a seminar called 'Highway to Entrepreneurship - People and Stories Behind the Statistics' at 9.30 am. The hostess for the event is Tiina Rinkinen and sharing their thoughts about their relationship with entrepreneurship are Sami Sänpänkkilä, Timo Pietilä, Emilia Howells, Ville Rissanen, Pauli Kopu, Hannamari Matikainen, Lucas Pedersen ja Juha Siirtola. From 10 am to 5 pm you can find demos, games and animations in the school cafetaria and the classroom Donner. Ctrl+Alt+Visu, the exhibition by graduating Visual Design students, is also at display in the cafeteria. There will also be film screenings in the classrooms Kuvaopetusluokka and Teatteri from 12 pm to 5 pm.
The highlight of the evening is TAF-club in Tullinkamarinaukio 2 (Klubi). On stage you will see and hear the following artists: Desert Planet, Timi Lexikon, The Friend and VJ Group Nou & Herkauw. Tickets 6 euros.

Huomenna, torstaina 14.4., esitetään TAMKin Finlaysonin toimipisteen kahviossa kello 16 toinen Kino-TAMK -elokuvanäytös. The cafeteria will transform into a movie theater from 4 pm to 6 pm, when Kino-TAMK starts. During the two-hour show you will see 12 short movies made by students who have graduated during the semester of 2010-2011. Tuomas Koskialhon Winter Nights Neukkarissa, 2.krs
TAFfin näyttelytarjonta on kasvanut Tuomas Koskialhon valokuvanäyttelyllä, joka on esillä toisen kerroksen Neuvotteluhuoneessa. Näyttely jatkuu 29.4. asti.
Tekijä itse kuvailee teosten taustoja näin:
Olen jo pitkään halunnut pakata laukkuni ja matkustaa jonnekin etelään. En ihan tarkkaan tiedä, mikä se etelä oikein on, mutta sinne minä lähden. Ennen sitä minun pitää kuitenkin tarkastella omaa maatani, kaupunkiani ja naapurustoani.
Minun piti etsiä oikeita tilanteita ja tuntemattomia ihmisiä. Yöllä kaupunki muuttui haavoittuvaksi ja kävi ilmi, että kylmä talvi oli riisunut naamionsa ja näytti minulle mitä on revontulien, neitseellisen luonnon ja niin sanotun korkean elämänlaadun takana. Vaikka olikin pimeää ja lumi peitti maan, mikään ei ollut piilossa. Kaikkein voimakkaimmat tunnetilat aina rakkaudesta yksinäisyyteen, olivat läsnä.
Kuvasarja sukeltaa syvälle pohjoiseen autenttisella näkökulmalla, johon on lisätty hyppysellinen draamaa ja ripaus mustaa huumoria.

TAF alkaa tänään!/TAF opens today!
TAF alkaa tänään!
Vihdoinkin päättyy odotus ja Tampere Art Factory 2011 avaa ovensa tänään keskiviikkona 13.4.!
"Tehtaan" ohjelman aloittaa klo 10 TAMKin Finlaysonin kampuksen kahviossa avattava visuaalisen suunnittelun oppilaitten lopputyönäyttely Ctrl+Alt+Visu. Kahviosta löytää mm. kuvituksia, julisteita ja lautapelin. Toisaalle koulun tiloihin on levittäytynyt myös muiden vuosikurssien taidonnäytteitä. Avajaisten jälkeen näyttely on esillä kahviossa aina 29. päivään asti huhtikuuta.
Illalla klo 16-18 samaisessa kahviossa järjestetään Kino-TAMK -elokuvanäytös. Illan aikana nähdään 12 oppilaitten valmistamaa lyhytelokuvaa eri vuosikursseilta jotka ovat valmistuneet lukuvuoden 2010-2011 aikana. Elokuvien pituus vaihetelee 3 minuutista aina 17 minuuttiin. Näytös sisältää elokuvat Oppitunti, Vettä sakeampaa, Positiivinen tulos, Change of Address, Jonossa, Toinen meistä, Laulu sieltä missä tyyntä on, Muutos meitä johtaa, Metsästysmaa, Kaunis kuolema, Vieraat seinät ja Connection Lost.
